Pounamu, a nephrite jade stone is also known as greenstone or in other parts of the world, jade.

Found exclusively in Te Waipounamu (the South Island of Aotearoa New Zealand) pounamu is a taonga (treasure) that was prized as both currency and a means of coalescing Māori whakapapa (birthright and genealogy) and pounamu that was handed down through generations was the most revered. 

All pounamu in Boh Runga Jewellery is sourced from Te Waipounamu.
