Arahua River Pendant
The Arahura pendant captures the movement and magnitude of the sacred Arahua river that flows 56km to the rugged Tasman Sea. This special resource was considered by Māori to be the stone of the gods, largely because of its difficulty to be found, and the need to trek into dangerous landscapes to find it. Arahura is renowned as one of New Zealand's most abundant Pounamu bearing rivers, Māori had many traditional trails carved here in the Hokitika region to find the Arahura.
